Job Description:
Sr. Data Migration Consultant is an extremely challenging position that
requires a broad skill set of skills and experience to excel in this position.
This role will work with a small team or individually to gather
requirements to develop and implement a data migration strategy to meet and
exceed the projects requirements.
Activities will range from working with end-users to gather their
requirements, to creating solutions for migrating data which may reside in file
stores to data residing in ERP systems (SAP, Manugistics etc…).
Responsibilities:
Understand and demonstrate how data migration will impact and integrate
with the overall PLM project initiative, business drivers, value and impact
Aid in setting and managing expectations, demonstrating thought leadership
to effectively influence key contacts and recommend solutions
Direct the delivery of data migration requirements workshops
Aid in leading the data migration architectural design area of a project
and solutions to address the business requirements
Understand data migration goals and objectives in order to identify what
artifacts are needed to support the successful application launch
Implement toolsets, scripts to facilitate migration activities
Provide advice to the definition of required strategies for migration of
legacy systems data
Support project management activities to control scope, cost, schedule and
quality
Mentor team members
Make technical recommendations related to data migration activities
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
BS degree in Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science,
Technology or equivalent knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Experience designing Teamcenter data migration solutions where data resides
in file shares
Experience migration data from ERP systems such as SAP in the areas of
materials, BOMs and routings
Previous experience with Enterprise PLM, ERP or MES implementations
Experience leading a team during a software implementation
Ability to present complex information and communicate in an effective
manner for a given audience
Multiple years working in a customer facing environment ? A self-starter
with strong communication skills.
