Seeking machining and fabrication environment experience to lead the procurement function responsible for purchasing of inventory that support manufacturing plant operations, while continuously identifying and implementing cost saving and containment ideas.
Activities:
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing & Maintenance Planners to forecast inventory needs to ensure availability of tooling, instruments, machine tools, materials, etc. for production and preventative maintenance needs or unforeseen repairs.
Source and purchase tooling, machine tools, lubricants, replacement parts and other maintenance supplies as needed for custom machine building projects and review and approve purchase requisitions, process purchase orders and provide delivery dates to teams as necessary.
Communicate with vendors to get quotes and conduct pricing research to achieve lowest costs for replenishing inventory.
Document received items, stocked inventory and internal usage and consumption.
Check deliveries upon receipt to ensure order specifications were met.
Increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize MRO inventory practices.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or similar or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in production planning, inventory control or MRO in a Machining & Fabrication Manufacturing Operation.
