Description

As a Linux Engineer you will assist the client with designing and implementing their system architecture in addition to developing new platforms and deploying server baselines using Linux Operating Systems.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

Planning Operating System upgrades and design of system enhancements
Producing documentation on new or existing systems
Producing and conducting system testing to ensure functionality and performance fulfill user requirements
Identification and mitigation of bugs
Providing training and technical guidance on new or existing systems
Providing software metrics
Installation and testing of new Linux and Unix builds with a cloud environment
O&M of new or existing systems
Communicating with vendors and clients to ensure client requirements are met
Ability to manage multiple tasks that interface with other Information technology skillsets
Required Skills:

3-10 years of systems engineering experience with Linux and Unix Operating Systems and virtualization platforms such as Red Hat, CentOS, and VMware
Excellent communication skills
Education:

Candidate must have one of the following:

12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
10 Years of job related experience and Associate’s degree
8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
Desired Skills:

Experience with Splunk, Nagios, or SolarWinds
Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, etc.
Experience with code versioning tools such as Github
Experience with large scale development using the SDLC
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with the inclusion fo Visio tools
Experience working in a high security environment
Desired Certs:

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Core hours: 9:00AM – 3:00PM with occasional after hours support for deployments.
