Create, modify, and improve molding processes for plastic and rubber molded products such as cable seals, wiring connectors, plugs, harness components, seals, isolators, gaskets, bellows, or similar.
Optimize productivity, reduce cycle time, improve quality, and reduce costs through process evaluation, re-design, and validation.
Select resins, draw sketches and calculate dimensions for new tooling.
Analyze, calculate, and define feeds, speeds, tooling, and tolerances.
Analyze molding process for viscosity, pressure drop, cavity balance, cooling time, etc.
Recommend new equipment to fit production needs based on cost, efficiency and quality requirements.
Requires:
Experience with Plastic or Rubber Injection Molding, Laser Engraving, Assembly, Finishing, Machining, Trimming, Deflashing, Cleaning, and Packaging.
Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and background in process and equipment validation for the automotive industry.
Experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) guidelines.
Thorough knowledge of ISO-TS16949 and other industry guidelines related to plastic or rubber automotive component manufacturing.
Excellent compensation and benefits package provided with chances for advancement. Long term growth potential. Compensation to $115,000 with end of year bonus, travel expense reimbursement, matched 401(k) and tuition reimbursement.
