Software engineer

Title: Software engineer (backend)
Duration: 12 months
Location: Mountain View, CA

The job is in world’s largest consumer electronics company and the leading provider for smart phones and smart TVs. Smart TVs connect homes to the Internet providing a full range of intelligent capabilities. The Digital Media Solutions Lab is building a next-generation data platform to power TV analytics, ad targeting and personalized services. We are looking for a software engineer with strong computer science foundation to work our highly scalable data services.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and testing a scalable and highly available data services.
• Supporting and maintaining existing services.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to improving existing frameworks.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, operating system, computer networks
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with designing and implementing scalable systems.
• Strong development skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs. Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with container platforms like Docker or relevant. Experience with AWS environment.
• Production level experience in one or more modern programming language such as C++, Python, etc.
• Experience developing highly-scalable RESTful APIs. Experience with API testing.
