JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Identify material by colour
Properly mix material
Distinguish between types of material
Load and unload raw material bins/hoppers (i.e. maintain raw material levels to ensure line operation)
Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisor.
Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required.
Comply with Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency.
Construct packaging
Prepare and apply label to package
Package product as per specification
Keep work area clean
Participate in the PVC Recovery program, ensure recycling of:
Place raw material in proper storage locationPlace finished goods in proper storage location

Job Statement

The Production Machine Operator will be responsible for the efficient smooth running of the production machine(s) assigned on a given shift, according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

Essential Functions

• Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.

• Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with SQF policies, procedures, and work instructions.

• Complies with the GMP rules and standards set.

• Refers to procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.

• Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.

• Ability to follow work rules, work independently, be flexible and be willing to perform a variety of jobs.

• Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.

• Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.

• Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.

• Other duties/functions as may be assigned from time to time.

In addition to the above essential functions, Switchers may also be required to perform Package Handler essential functions as follows: • Utilizes “hand-to-surface” methods for all package handling. • Loads and unloads packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor system carts and load gratings. • Lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages on a continuous and repetitive basis for approximate shifts of two to four hours. • Determines the appropriate conveyor system by scanning packages, reading labels and charts, verifying numbers and memorizing information and sorts packages accordingly.
