Job Description:
Electrical Automation Controls Engineers will coordinate all projects from cradle to grave, select electrical components, program, test, debug, install, start-up, provide training and commission steel & metals making machinery. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams utilizing AutoCAD and will maintain all documentation. Domestic and International Travel to customer sites should not exceed 12%. The majority of the work (88%) shall be preformed within the confines of the companies Design & Build Equipment Manufacturing Facilities.

Requirements:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering

3-15 years of experience in the design, programming and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, PC-based control systems and AC Drives.

Hands on Experience with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical software.

Able to program Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other PLC Controls.

Knowledge of Visual Basic for Windows is a plus.

Electrical Engineering & Automation Controls experience with any or all of the following:
Steel Coil & Sheet Processing: Cut-to-Length, Pickle, Slitting, Precision Blanking, Shearing, Edging and Polishing Lines or Rolling, Tube/Pipe Mills to include: Four-High Rolling Mill, Cluster Rolling Mill, Continuous Mill, Planetary Rolling Mill, Ring Rolling, Roll Bending, Roll Shifting, Roll Forming, Profile Rolling, Controlled Rolling, Coiler Handling, Down Coilers, Peelers, Step Control Mandrels, Automatic Gauge Control (AGC) in plate steel mills, Continuously variable crown (CVC), Hydraulic Gap Control (HGC) in hot steel mill finishing, Bar Guides / Walking Beams, Levelers, Presses, Ladles, Tundish Slide Gates, Electric Arc and Blast Furnaces.

We are seeking a Controls Engineer or a Senior Controls Technician to support
our Lead Engineer on our engineering and design team, located near Montpelier,
VT.

Responsible for providing controls system design, testing, and configuration,
working closely with clients, translating customer requirements into a project
specification documents, defining scope and deliverables. Developing datapoint
lists and SCADA interfaces for the clients. Writing and executing factory
acceptance test plans and on-site acceptance testing. Assisting with design and
review of electrical/controls design drawings and equipment lists. Programming
of PLC and RTAC logic controllers using IEC 61131 ST, FBD, LD. Troubleshooting
the electrical, controls, AC/DC inverter power systems and ensuring
modifications are made with engineering and production.

Must have outstanding communication, organizational, analytical,
problem-solving and computer skills (MS Office and SolidWorks). Must have
strong electrical troubleshooting skills. Must have experience with industrial
protocols. Modbus/TCP and/or DNP3 is a plus. Experience working with electrical
power systems is a plus.

Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time for fieldwork, which
includes hiking, construction work, moving heavy objects and performing onsite
project commissioning and supporting and troubleshooting existing installations.

A degree in Engineering is preferred, with an emphasis on Controls,
Electrical, or Software Engineering and a minimum of five years of related work
experience.
