We are currently seeking a Senior Science Project Architect to join our Health and Science Practice in our Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC office as the Regional Market Leader.
The client is looking for a results-oriented, energetic, entrepreneurial Architect that has a focused career in the programming, planning and design of science facilities. It is the intent that the candidate be extremely collaborative and join our existing Science Team by helping establish a market presence within one of the existing offices in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC. The successful candidate should have a fundamental understanding of the Science market overall in the Carolinas with an emphasis on Bio-Pharma project types. This person will assist in attaining our goals to position them as a national leader in design for the science industry and establishing our permanent presence for the Science market in this geography. The following proficiencies are ranked in order of their importance:
Responsibilities:
· Engage with clients and key organizations to strengthen our presence and network within the market sector.
· Lead and manage a multi-discipline project team of architects, interior designers, and consultant’s engineers in the Science market with a focus on Bio-Pharma projects
· Lead project programming, planning, design, development, review, and coordination of contract documents and specifications, coordination of consultants, and administration of construction contracts in multiple delivery method projects including Design Build (DB).
· Lead workload projections, manpower scheduling, and manage project profitability
· Assist with owner, DB partner and consultant’s agreements including scope of work, fees, schedule of deliverables and interfacing with in-house legal resources to ensure timely resolution of issues with contractual terms and conditions
· Lead and mentor junior architectural staff with all aspects of project design and delivery
· Laboratory Facility Programming, Planning, Design, Production and Quality Control
· Laboratory Equipment Planning

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary:
1. Licensed Architect in North Carolina or a background in Program Management
2. Bachelors or Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university
3. Minimum 10+ years of experience
4. Candidate must be registered architect.
5. Proficiency with Revit, MS Office, MS Project, and Sketch-Up
6. Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following: (indicate which ones)
· Biopharma Development, Manufacturing, and Production Facilities
· Health Science and Biomedical Research Facilities
· Containment and Barrier Facilities
· Basic Research Laboratory Facilities
· Chemical and Physical Science Research Facilities
· Vivarium Facilities
· Professional and Trade Organization Participation, membership, leadership.
· Publication, Presentation, Lecture experience.
