Description

As a Systems Engineer you will architect an enterprise level Virtual Information Processing Environment using technologies such as VMWare ESXi or Nutanix AHV. You will be expected to provide tier 3 support, identify system weakness, and develop high level technical solutions. In addition this role will involve technical planning, system integration, analyzing cost and risk, etc.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

Ensuring designs are consistent with the architecture
Allocating requirements into the segments based on the architecture
Automation and/or improvement of existing systems by analyzing the following:
User requirements
User procedures
Technical roadblocks
Analyzing system capabilities and limitations
Producing total system solutions from requirements while taking the following into account:
Schedule
Cost Constraints
Technical Expertise etc.
Performing the following in order to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications:
Functional Analysis
Timeline Analysis
Cost Estimation
Trade Studies etc.
Providing technical support to staff and users
O&M of existing systems with the inclusion of testing and coordination of installing software
Expansion or modification of systems to serve a new purpose or to improve the overall workflow
Assistance in the establishment of standards for a software system
Providing guidance on new and existing commercially available technology
Required Skills:

Demonstrated experience or Working knowledge managing storage clusters using a VMware environment
Demonstrated experience with middleware technologies such as one of the following:
VMware ESXi 6.0+ (6.5 and 6.7 are preferred)
Nutanix AHV
Demonstrated experience with PowerShell
Working Knowledge of Cluster Distributed Resource Scheduler
Storage Distributed Resource Scheduler Education
Education:

Candidate must have one of the following:

10 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
8 Years of job related experience and Associate’s degree
4-7 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
3 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
2 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
Desired Skills:

Experience with vRealize Operations Manager
Experience with Jira
Understanding of XML
Understanding of Agile Methodologies
Understanding of standard and distributed switches
Desired Certifications:

VMware Certified Professional
Core hours: 9:00AM – 3:00PM
