Junior Linux Administrator

Designs, installs, and implements any Linux infrastructures to include Server, Virtual Machines, Cloud based Linux servers or appliances and programs in any version of Linux. Some knowledge of Windows is required. May design configurations for various computer systems. Plans and manages medium to large scale Linux projects. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex network and/or infrastructure issues. Provides preventative action recommendations and assists in finding solutions to recurring Server problems. Serves as a technical resource for all information systems support areas. May serve as Team Lead on projects. Provides technical advice to senior level management concerning network systems and/or telecommunications networks. May document information for infrastructure and/or network systems, changes, and procedures. Designs configurations and installs hardware. Performs planning, design and evaluations relative to communication networking and operations layouts. Maintains records of equipment and replacement plan. Serves as user contact for problems with automation system; follows through with solutions to problems; trains users and staff. Conducts interviews to determine user needs. Meets with vendors to discuss and evaluate hardware and software. Trains users in the proper utilization of hardware and software; writes training manuals. Designs hardware configurations, completes technical drawings, programs controllers. May provide high level information systems monitoring, problem analysis, tracking, and resolution. Documents information and/or telecommunication network systems outages, changes, and procedures.
