Role: Sr. Platform Engineer
Location : Austin TX
Contract

Duration : contract (~ 6 months can be extended based on candidate
performance/client demand)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our
client team who are into video relay services (VRS) and other communication
solutions.
We?re creating amazing experiences through products where technology meets
creativity.
As a Senior Platform Engineer you will play a key role in the delivery of
highly reliable, scalable, and maintainable Call Center Platform.
You will drive projects end to end, collaborating on product definitions with
product owners, implementing technical solutions with talented teams, and
ensuring continued success even after deployment.
You are pragmatic, tenacious,comfortable with ambiguity.
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment,
self-motivated, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
You have insights on the tradeoffs between various tools & libraries.
Responsibilities
? Design, development and maintenance of 24×7 High Available, High Volume Call
Center platform
? Work closely with Technology Leads, Infrastructure/DevOps Engineers,
Platform Engineers to implement SIP/WebRTC protocol based VOIP systems
(existing as well go forward).
? Write maintainable, efficient, and well-documented code using engineering
best practices
? Adhere to company-wide coding standards for enhancing code readability,
supportability, and extensibility.
? Analyze, propose, and develop solutions for technical problems and issues
with assistance from peers or supervisors
? Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation for all relevant
specifications, systems, and procedures
? Ability to successfully handle multiple value streams across multiple
programs, while maintaining composure and professionalism to meet tight
deadlines and shifting priorities.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills:
? Four-year college degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or
related discipline or equivalent experience
? 8+ years full-time professional experience in software design and
development using a diverse set of programming languages, frameworks, and
systems such as Ruby, Lua, Elixir (Ruby is, MUST)
? Hands-on experience with distributed system architecture such as
Service-Based on Microservices
? Working knowledge of call center internals highly desired
? Work dealing with real-time protocols such as SIP and WebRTC
? Experience with cloud computing services (Amazon Web Services like Lambda,
S3, CloudWatch, ECS, and RDS preferred)
? Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux especially on SSH, DB Connection and
script management
? Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
? Experience developing applications on Linux Server (Ubuntu, Debian)
environments
? Strong desire to learn new technologies
? Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
? Experience working in Agile Software development with a good understanding
of TDD
? Productively and collaboratively work as part of a geographically and
culturally diverse Agile teams
? Engage in Mob/Pair Programming sessions to build collective knowledge and
skill sets
? Knowledge of American Sign Language (or willingness to learn) is a huge plus
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
? Startup experience desired
