General Description:
The successful candidate will join a team of engineers responsible for design, development engineering of
commercial avionics equipment including; Communications and navigation radio equipment, audio control panels,
audio management units, and other avionics cockpit instrumentation. In addition to developing designs to meet
requirements, this position also refines and produces lower level requirements from the higher-level requirements.
Key/Core Qualifications:
General electrical circuit design skills in many of the following areas;
o Digital design; logic, CPLDs, FPGAs, micro-Processors, I2C, SPI, PCIe
o Power Supplies, linear and switching supplies, control loop stability
o Analog design; op-amps, filters, switches
o Thermal design; heat flow, heat sinking
o Magnetic design; transformers and inductors,
o Radio frequency circuits and components, mostly below 1GHz
Experience working in a requirement based environment producing lower level hardware requirements as a
prelude to design efforts.
Experience using bench equipment; oscilloscopes, distortion analyzers, network/spectrum/vector analyzers,
power meters, etc.
Experience with computer aided design tools
Works to and supports schedules and metrics
BS EE or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of DO-160 Qualification Testing, awareness of FAA certification (DO-254, DO-178B)
Experience with Altium and/or Cadstar for schematic capture and PC board Layout
Experience completing design cycles of complex aeronautic equipment
General Avionics or helicopter pilot experience
