Required skills & experience:
1.) Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3 years
2.) Must have or be willing to attain PA medical license
3.) Must have PALS cert
4.) Must be perform 5 minute H&P’s on mentally ill patients being admitted when on call (RARE)
5.) Must be accountable during credentialing and when traveling
What you need to know:
Schedule:
Outpatient:
Mon-Fri, 8a-5p
12-14 patients per day
No procedures
Call hours: APPs take 1st call(Mommy calls) Sun-Thurs
Will work alongside 3-4 APP’s and 1-2 Physicians
Support Staff: LPNs and office assistants available
EMR: GE centricity
MUST be willing to treat ADHD children and prescribe medication
Inpatient call:
1-2 weekday(s) 5pm-8am
Rounds start at 8am and last until completed
8am-8am on weekends with rounding in the mornings
Acute visits: New borns/Peds unit/ Occasional H&P’s on behavioral health patients
All patients must be seen within 24hrs
Beeper/cell phone
6-8 daily normal newborns on Peds floors
No procedures
No circumcisions
Pediatrician does not need to attend deliveries
Support staff: RN’s,NP’s,PA’s and other physicians
EMR: Cerner
Delivering about 1200 deliveries a year. The daily average number of newborns in the newborn nursery is 6-8. Infants 35 weeks or less are admitted to our NICU. The OB providers complete all circumcisions. The pediatrician along with our NICU staff assist with stabilizing newborns transferred from the newborn nursery.
NICU Level 3
Credentialing takes: 2-3 weeks
