Description

The Software Developer/Programmer (SDP) position will modify existing Windows
Form .NET applications, and develop new Window Form .NET applications.
Candidates for this position must successfully be able to develop Windows Form
.NET applications using C# and VisualBasic.NET. Responsibilities include
modifying existing applications to fix bugs and add enhancements; and upgrading
older applications to new versions of Visual Studio and targeting newer
versions of the .NET Framework. Candidates must also be able to build new
applications from the ground up. New application development will include
working with a business analyst to gather and understand requirements, creating
project documentation, building back end application code and database
components (tables, procedures, view, etc), building the user interface
(Windows Forms), testing, debugging, and deploying applications.
Additional responsibilities include analyzing current production technology,
recommending modern technology replacement solutions, and implementing those
solutions. For example, older applications or operating systems that are no
longer supported must be replaced by equivalent or better solutions.
Successful candidates must have the ability to communicate with non-technical
end users. Successful candidates should be able to work independently with
little guidance required.
Preferred candidates will have ability to write scheduled SQL Server jobs or
operating system scheduled tasks to perform automated functions across the
enterprise.
Required skills include:
C# .NET developer with specialization in Windows Forms (5 years min)
SQL Server skills such as building tables, views, stored procedures,
understanding indexing (5 years min)
Must be detail oriented and logical.
Experience in object-oriented design.
Strong written and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to gather information and create process flowcharts, diagrams and
other documentation.
Ability to gather information and develop technical specifications that can be
understood by non-technical users.
Solid understanding of secure application development.
VisualBasic.NET experience preferred.
Crystal Reports experience preferred.
An interest in gaining new skills.
Solid understanding of Windows operating system, including printing, print
drivers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP is a plus.
Agency will provide computer hardware and software needed to complete the
requirements of the job.
