National Engineering and Consulting, an Architectural Engineering Firm in South Orange County is looking for a Sr. Structural Designer with 8+ years of professional experience in AUTOCAD and REVIT, with Experience on Commercial, Residential and Seismic Retrofit projects. This is production position and includes delivering Structural construction documents using AUTOCAD and REVIT.
Responsibilities:
· Structural Design /drafting utilizing Revit and AUTOCAD systems to design buildings and other complicated structures.
· Utilizes Revit and AUTOCAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, layouts, plans, sections and details and isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established NEC standards and procedures.
· Works closely with other Designer/Drafters and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design.
· Works closely with Structural Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
· Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.
· Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
· Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
· Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
· Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
· Assists in training lower-level Designers in various procedures.
Designer Qualifications:
· 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent)
· 8+ years of relevant experience with structural design of Concrete, Steel, Wood and Masonry structures.
· Experience and proficiency with Revit and Cad system is essential for this role.
