Description
MTA seeks a Human Resource and Program Operations (HRPO) Fellow to work on its rapidly growing human resource and program operations structure. The role will allow a motivated student or recent graduate to deepen their understanding of program operations, organizational development, management, recruitment, employee relations, and training while building skills and gaining experience as a team member. The HRPO Fellow will report to the Staff Coordinator.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated interest in processes and systems related to people in an organization. The ideal candidate will aspire to originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
The ideal candidate seeks an opportunity to plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions and lead efforts for organization development of a mission-driven consulting firm.

General Requirements
[Scope of Responsibilities]
Provide virtual administrative support to the company’s human resource team.
Originate practices and objectives that will provide an employee oriented, and high-performance culture (ie. mission, goals, hr manuals, and policy statements)
Development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the firm’s business goals.
Plan, direct, and coordinate administrative and project management functions of the firm.
Oversee (with MTA’s staff supervision) the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and managing projects of new interns.
Assist and advise MTA’s top management on strategic planning, services, policies, and programs.
Serve as a link between MTA’s top management and its interns.
Research and provide analysis on human resource and program operations issues surrounding your HRPO areas of interest (to include but not limited to: Organization Development, Communication, Performance Management,
Coaching, Policy Recommendation, Salary and Benefits, Team Building, Employee Relations, Leadership.
Monitor and track industry news and related best practices for HRPO developments using a myriad of information sources.
Assist with other projects as assigned.
[Commitment]
The HRPO Fellow will join MTA Visions for a minimum 4-month period for an average of at least 15 hours per week. Schedule will be determined in collaboration with the Staff Coordinator in order to provide the HRPO Fellow flexibility to work around a class schedule. It is expected that the HRPO Fellow will work from home
[Qualifications and Experience]
Undergraduate or graduate-level coursework in human resources, business administration, management, communications, marketing, leadership, compliance, writing, and/or related areas.
A practical and proactive problem-solver who possesses strong business acumen and is confident, mature and calm under fire.
Of the highest degree of personal and professional integrity and ethic.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership skills.
Must be able to juggle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment but be focused when needed on the matter at hand.
Self-starter mentality and the ability to work independently.
A demonstrated commitment to excellence.
Strong and demonstrated research skills.
Ability to execute and exhibit good judgment.
Goal-oriented, project-oriented, and achievement-oriented.
Desire to learn from others and build relationships across the organization.
Prior knowledge and/or experience with human resources and business administration functions are a plus.
[Compensation]
This is an unpaid internship. HRPO Fellow may be awarded undergraduate/graduate school credit, available upon request.
