Position: Unix Engineer
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: 12+ Months
Position Description
Your future duties and responsibilities You will
be required to support the integration and implementation of numerous Unix
environments and provide operational support for same in addition to the
following:
? Perform system engineering and administration tasks in Unix environment for
a substantial amount of Unix servers
? Write scripts in Powershell to automate task
? Update existing legacy Powershell scripts currently in use.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? 6+ years of System engineering and administration experience in a UNIX
environment with substantial knowledge of the UNIX operating system for
Solaris, SuSE, and RHEL platforms.
? Must have extensive knowledge of Unix / Linux operating system
troubleshooting
? Must have knowledge of managing different kind of filesystems and storage
management at Unix level.
? Must have good working knowledge of UNIX naming service, Kerberos, Samba,
and SUDO.
? Must have strong programming / scripting languages ??such as Perl, Korn
Shell, Bourne Shell, C, or any development tools.
? Must be able to work independently on multiple concurrent tasks in a highly
dynamic environment with strong customer service skills, teaming skills and the
ability to collaborate within a cross functional team.
Education: University Bachelor’s degree in CS or related Field
