Provide comprehensive legal advice and services to environmental claim center regarding insurance coverage issues, litigation management, compliance, regulatory inquiries, contract drafting and negotiation, and emerging trends.
Prepare written legal coverage opinions and other coverage advice.
Advise on possible claims outcomes, awards and settlements.
Research legal principles and precedents within Toxic Tort, Environmental, Pollution, and Asbestos related cases.
Prepare and review motions, briefs, pleadings, legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
Propose, prepare, respond to, and evaluate oral and written discovery.
Develop defense positions and legal strategies, including engaging and managing counsel as required.
Review and approve invoices for retained counsel to ensure compliance with corporate retention agreement.
Prepare and review annual legal fees budget for assigned cases.
Provide counsel and coordination on compliance issues and regulatory inquiries, including market conduct examinations.
Develop and deliver training to claim staff.
