Quality Control Chemist
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Operate lab QC testing equipment and perform troubleshooting as needed
Test and approve incoming raw materials
Perform QC on both open cell and closed cell polyurethane foams
Investigate product quality concerns
Maintain files of Safety Data Sheets and Certificates of Analysis for raw materials
Bias toward action with ability to work independently as needed
Attention to detail with clear and complete documentation skills
Strong laboratory skills desired with ability to follow written procedures
Ability to work as a key part of a diverse teams
Must be able to multitask and prioritize work
Must maintain a clean work area and employ good housekeeping practice
Support Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and Product Management functions
Operation of analytical, mechanical property and chemical processing equipment
Develop and implement quality control specifications and standards across business locations
Project management and documentation including laboratory notebook documentation and project report writing
Strong laboratory skills required including both scientific practices and housekeeping
Manage external agency audits, witnessed batches and certification compliance
