Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping patients recover from injuries and illnesses.
Responsibilities
– Physical Therapist Assistant provides comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
-Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
-Document patients progress on weekly progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the PT.
-Physical Therapist Assistant completes all required documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
-Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
– Performs related duties as required
Qualifications
– Associate’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
– Current License to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant/Limited Permit in New York State required.
– Experience or interest in working with geriatric patients
– Knowledge of orthopedic and inpatient rehabilitation practices
– Understanding of medical terminology
– Previous exposure to Nursing Home settings is a plus
– Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient care
