Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the ECON Course Coordinator fall within three categories:
Facilitate or provide instruction and briefings to participants and other stakeholders inside the Department and the Interagency community.
Conduct needs assessment(s) for potential training options related to emerging policy priorities like emerging technologies, climate change/sustainability, and commercial/business diplomacy.
Coordinate any resources that aid in the facilitation of courses in the portfolio. These may include internal and external stakeholders, other subject matter experts (SMEs), and/or contractors who aid with the production and delivery of the division’s courses.
Update, develop and expand course offerings on economic and commercial priorities.
Conduct needs assessments and utilize evaluation data to design offerings in new policy areas.
Coordinate curriculum for assigned courses with the appropriate subject matter experts.
In conjunction with the relevant subject matter experts in the Department, identify speakers and pedagogical materials and resources for the program.
Maintain expertise and visibility necessary to instruct the program participants and serve as ECON Division’s subject matter expert.
Teach courses within areas of expertise.
Continuously research to keep materials and course content updated and cutting edge.
Continuously develop and maintain professional contacts who will be resources for the courses.
Maintain and develop professional contacts with other government agencies and provide training and consultation to those agencies in accordance with FSI policies.
Develop and maintain course evaluation instruments according to FSI policy.
Utilize evaluation data.
Requirements:

US Citizenship.
An Active Secret Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree.
Five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities:

Develop, update, and apply data models to generate reports and analysis to inform stakeholders.
Retrieve, validate, format, and organize a variety of data from many sources.
Conduct data analysis to answer standard or recurring inquiries and identify trends, correlation, and other relationships in data sets.
Work across various stakeholders to understand data trends, sources, and analysis goals and connect data to business processes to obtain a deeper understanding of potential considerations and assumptions.
Provide data integration by linking data from multiple sources to conduct organizational analysis.
Conduct detail-oriented tasks and analysis projects independently with minimal supervision.
Create supporting materials for analysis projects (assumptions, briefings, handouts, written documents, user guides, etc.).
Development of metrics to identify trends in training and other integral data.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree.
Master’s degree preferred.
Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in data analysis or data architecture with specialized experience in business process improvement.
In addition, implementation of data analysis processes and procedures is required.
Ability to interpret and analyze complex data, including sensitive analyses, predictive analyses, and trends analyses.
Excellent data gathering and analytical skills.
Experience with data visualization methods and approaches.
Experience working with large data sets to distill information and present to all levels of organizational leadership.
Experience developing and recommending policy changes and projecting the impact of proposed changes based on data interpretation.
Highly proficient in the MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
Familiarity with software or tools used for business analytics, data analysis, and visualization such as Tableau, PowerPivot, PowerBI, Access, or Vizio.
Experience with general data analysis tasks—identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends; acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases; filtering and “cleaning” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems’ developing and refining ad hoc reports; and identifying and prioritizing business and information needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the FSI’s Legislative Affairs liaison, responding to Congressional taskings, coordinating institute-level responses on sensitive issues with various FSI components, other bureaus and the Bureau of Legislative Affairs.
Creating and implementing a proactive Congressional engagement strategy for the institute and ensuring proper knowledge management and processes related to FSI’s Congressional relations.
Serve as the chief project manager for complex multi-faceted projects requiring multiple layers of planning, program and event coordination with internal and external partners as well as vendors.
Draft to a high standard and quality and with minimal input, complex, nuanced memos for senior-level utilization.
Coach school outreach liaisons on effective and coherent approaches to strategic communications that align with FSI’s vision and the Department of State’s mission.
Review school related communication products with an eye to their alignment with FSI public affairs and branding standards.
Create communication products, materials and digital content that tells FSI’s story and advances brand coherence and reach (including but not limited to newsletters, targeted emails, event announcements, images, short videos, website content and social media posts).
Foster collaborative relationships with Outreach Liaisons, Division Directors, Course Coordinators and other staff across FSI in order to ensure proper public affairs functioning and produce content for distribution on internal and outwardly facing communication platforms.
Provide back-up support to the Director of Public Affairs in the realm of press relations, event planning and program management.
Provide support to the digital and social media specialist in the development and deployment of digital content.
Champion adoption of FSI’s recent rebranding and style guidelines with colleagues throughout the institute.
Organize campaigns, initiatives and events in conjunction with the Public Affairs Director, Social Media Specialist and other staff.
Assess, evaluate and iterate changes to FSI processes, work flows and systems to address evolving communication needs. Participates in outreach program reviews, evaluation and strategic planning to ensure quality, relevance, and effectiveness of approaches.
Benchmark with industry leaders where appropriate.
Facilitate tasking and response to press and public affairs related inquiries.
Support other outreach and communication projects and VIP visits.

Requirements:

US Citizenship.

Bachelor’s degree.
Seven (7) years’ experience working in communications, government or a related field.
Excellent written and spoken command of the English language.
Including strong written and verbal communication skills.
Copyediting skills with design skills a plus.
Ability to effectively manage complex and multi-faceted projects and initiatives that require coordination with multiple internal and external partners across an extended period of time.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, prioritize, and competently manage a variety of activities with multiple deadlines.
Experience managing project budgets.
