About the Job
Duties include:
Preparing planting growing media before planting.
Planting seeds in media.
Grafting plants onto root stock.
Controlling and maintain irrigation systems.
Operating nursery technical propagation equipment.
Monitoring plants for pests and diseases.
Applying pesticides to control pests and diseases.
Maintaining records.
Preparing plants for delivery.
Strictly adhering to all WHS, quality and hygiene procedures and protocols.
Skills/Qualifications and Experience Required for the Role
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
Experience in a glasshouse environment, preferably with experience in crop propagation.
A good knowledge of nursery practices including planting, grafting, nutrition, pest and disease management.
Proven ability to monitor the plant health, identify and investigate issues and make timely reports and recommendations.
Good understanding and ability to use relevant glasshouse management systems including Priva.
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively lead a team.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Be outcome focused with a track record of achieving performance, quality and safety targets.
Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills;
Good IT skills including the use of MS excel and Outlook.
Commitment to WHS, quality, hygiene and food safety.
Salary:
$63,000 – $65,000 p.a. plus super
