The Clinical Informatics Manager is responsible for advancing clinical practice and improving patient outcomes through the effective integration and utilization of clinical information systems in the practice environment. He/She will collaborate with clinical and technology leaders in the planning, design, build, testing, implementation, stabilization, and ongoing evaluation and optimization of clinical information systems. They will ensure proper evaluation of workflow’s and process improvement / integration with any new implementations or system modifications and lead the execution of the strategic clinical informatics departmental objectives outlined by the Divisional Clinical Informatics Director.
Required skills & experience (the “must haves” to be considered)
-Education and Licensure Required:
-Master’s Degree in Information Technology or Informatics
-Active Clinical Licensure (RN, MD, PharmD, etc.)
-At least one (1) Epic Certification
-Minimum Experience:
-Five (5) Years of information systems related experience with Epic EHR/EMR
-Five(5) years of clinical experience
-Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilties:
-Working knowledge of a variety of hardware and software environments and of healthcare industry
-Able to translate business and clinical care needs using appropriate tools and methodologies
-Able to identify, report and collaborate with leadership on key issues in the assigned clinical area(s)
-Possess good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to listen well to others and communicate technical information to non-technical customers and to leadership.
-Able to understand and lead current state processes and in the development of future state workflows discussions with collaboration of leadership and IT
-Able to demonstrate initiative, good change management skills and high level of personal motivation in a fast– paced, dynamic environment
-Ability to manage on-call resources.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
