POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• US Citizen.
• Must currently possess an Active Secret Clearance; Only candidates currently possessing an Active Secret Clearance will be considered for this position.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an electrical engineering technician AND
o Held a NAVSEA accredited cargo/weapons elevator assessor certification within the last five (5) years.
• The technician will provide support for Cargo/Weapons elevators, Aircraft Elevators, deck edge and hangar bay divisional doors, vertical package conveyors, and other assigned equipment for MARMC Code 253.
• Must be familiar with elevator, door, and conveyor terminology, including the following: Terms defined and used in Naval Ships’ Technical Manual (NSTM) Chapter 772, NSTM Chapter 588, NSTM chapter 572, NSTM chapter 300, and MIL-E-17807.
• Must be well versed with terms used in Common Assessment Procedures, System Operability Tests, and applicable portions of the General Specifications for Overhaul (GSO).
• Perform technical assistance visits, inspections, normal assessments and corrective actions as tasked.
• Conduct cold checks of equipment condition and parameters for out of specification settings.
• Observe operation of the equipment by ship’s force to witness the full range of performance, where possible.
• Ability to use appropriate measuring equipment to obtain data for evaluation.
• Ability to evaluate the findings of the cold checks and operational checks and adjust and repair to the maximum extent possible during the time available.
• Must be able assist with the preparation and adjudication of Departures from Specification (DFS) and Engineering Support Requests (ESRs) when required.
